WAKE ME UP. I'm pushing & pushing, but its never enough to keep me away from bloodshot eyes & a tear stained face. While I lie awake in this bed these, thoughts & memories, race through my head. Over & over & over & over again. & To my dearest friends I'm sorry if I scared you. I've just been sleeping with my eyes open. Again The sun comes in the morning, & I still can't sleep through the night.
Again The sun comes in the morning, & I still can't close my eyes. I know I'll be okay, I know I'll be just fine, but I am still afraid. WAKE ME UP. I'm trying & trying to keep myself up & above these waters. These waters that I've been drowning in for so long are starting to fill up my lungs. Can somebody wake me up from this nightmare? I've had enough.
I've been so lost at sea, that I've forgotten how to breathe. I've been so lost at sea, that I've forgotten about the others, who've sailed with me. & Now as I look around, I wonder where could they be? WHERE COULD THEY BE? WHERE?! Are they safety aboard or have they fallen in the deep? Have they found land yet or have they found their death along with me? & as that questions lingers on with no answer I try to gather enough air to look up & pray. "God can you help me find a way?" & As those last words slipped off my tongue I felt myself being lifted up. I felt the warmth of the sun on my face & the water fall off my skin.
I feel myself being placed back on that vessel & now I swear I'll sail these seas, in search for those drowning like me or at least how I use to.
